Locally Owned & Operated
Demorest Contracting is owned and run by Eli Demorest, a Port Alberni general contractor who stays hands-on from the first site visit to the final walkthrough.
When you hire us, you deal directly with the person managing your project - not a salesperson, and not a rotating list of coordinators.
Being based here means we build with local conditions in mind.
Coastal moisture, older Alberni Valley housing stock that hides surprises behind the drywall, supplier lead times on the Island, and how permits and inspections actually move locally.
All of it shapes how we quote and schedule work. That knowledge is what keeps timelines realistic and budgets honest.
Our Mission Statement
"Our mission at Demorest Contracting is to deliver exceptional renovation services through a commitment to quality work, effective communication, and unwavering professionalism.
We prioritize client satisfaction by actively listening to and understanding the needs of our clients, ensuring that every project is completed to the highest standards.
Our collaborative approach fosters strong teamwork, both within our company and with our clients, to achieve outstanding results and build lasting relationships."

What We Take On
Demorest Contracting takes on residential and commercial renovations across the Alberni Valley and Central Vancouver Island. Projects range from a single-room remodel to a building taken back to the studs.
Full home renovations, additions, decks and covered patios, basement finishing, and kitchen and bathroom remodels for homeowners in Port Alberni and the surrounding communities.
Tenant improvements, office and retail fit-outs, and interior renovations for local businesses, with schedules planned to keep disruption to your operation low.
Full building overhauls, whole-home gut renovations, historic and heritage retrofits, and multi-unit property renovations managed from planning through to completion.
